Long, fisheye exposure of the house at night. Illumination from lights in the kitchen and tree lights in front room. Jupiter and an airplane (white line in center-right) included in view. Other than faint light from the windows, Jupiter, and the stars, the scene was black in 'real' time.

Manhattan has many famous landmarks, tourist attractions, museums, and universities. It is also home to the headquarters of the United Nations. It is the center of New York City and the New York metropolitan region, hosting the seat of city government and a large portion of the area's employment, business, and entertainment activities. As a result, residents of New York City's other boroughs such as Brooklyn and Queens often refer to a trip to Manhattan as "going to the city", despite the comparable populations between those boroughs.

Harbin is located in Northeast China under the direct influence of the cold winter wind from Siberia. The average temperature in summer is 21.2 °C (70.2 °F) and −16.8 °C (1.8 °F) in winter.
The annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival has been held since 1985. Although the official start date is January 5 each year, in practice, many of the sculptures can be seen before. While there are ice sculptures throughout the city, there are two main exhibition areas: Enormous snow sculptures at Sun Island (a recreational area on the opposite side of the Songhua River from the city) and the separate "Ice and Snow World" that operates each night. Ice and Snow World features illuminated full size buildings made from blocks of 2–3 feet thick crystal clear ice directly taken from Songhua River which passes through the city. Winter activities in the festival include Yabuli Alpine Skiing, winter-swimming in Songhua River, and the ice-lantern exhibition in Zhaolin Garden. Snow carving and ice and snow recreations are world famous.
The "Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival" is one of the four largest ice and snow festivals in the world, along with Japan's Sapporo Snow Festival, Canada's Quebec City Winter Carnival, and Norway's Ski Festival.

Field of Light by Bruce Munro at the Holburne Museum in Bath until the 8th January (next year (well until tonight anyway)).
From Wikipedia : "Bruce Munro is a British lighting designer and installation artist. Munro is best known for lighting installations such as Field of Light which was first exhibited at the V&A Museum in 2004. His work was featured as an example of outstanding lighting design in the book by Design Museum titled How to Design a Light, published by Conran Octopus in October 2010.
Bruce Munro was born in Salcombe in Devon in 1959 and studied fine art at Bristol Polytechnic. He moved to Australia in 1984, where he created a commercial design company providing illuminated signage for large corporations such as Quantas and Honda. On his return to the UK in 2002 he worked for Kevin McCloud at his eponymous light manufacturing company before settling in West Wiltshire and branching out on his own as a lighting designer."

The Shot
The Field of Light at the Holburne Museum, Bath, UK is the artwork of acclaimed lighting artist Bruce Munro. It consists of over 5,000 bulbs of light planted in the grounds of the Museum and flowing into the Garden Cafe. Acrylic stems are topped by frosted spheres which are threaded with fibre optic cables and lit by a colour projector. The result is quite magical, as both colour and light flow through the bulbs. The effect is a flow of different colours across the field as the light colours gradually change.
The exhibition is free and remains open until 8 January 2012.
