GeordieKat has added a photo to the pool:
Went on holiday to Devon (of all exotic locations). The roads were ... interesting compared to home and they seem to like lining all their tracks - sorry, roads - with hedges which meant we couldn't find anywhere with exciting foreground interest to stop (this was after an 8 hour drive when everyone was knackered and none of us know the area at all! No doubt there was somewhere exotic nearby we missed). Anyway, this the Milky Way as seen from the outskirts of Exmoor National Park. It was nice being able to see it with the naked eye - only normally get that if I'm staying up in Northumberland. Even the holiday cottage where were were staying (not far from Braunton) had it visible from the garden! Good job I did take these photos the 1st night as pretty much every other featured very strong wind, cloud and rain.
On a non rambling note: This was a 20 (I think - go check my exif!) second exposure on my D7000 with some adjustments in photoshop (contrast, levels, white balance). I had the ISO cranked right up which is something I'd never dare try on my old D60. I did take several photos but I'll be damned if I can work out how to stack them all properly. Something to learn if I head into Northumberland to try again.
